Mudgee’s top summer spots

From the most refreshing spots to cool off & have a swim, to the best ice-cream & fish & chips for the true summer vibes, Bliss has you covered. Soak up the rest of Mudgee’s summer in style with these hot tips…

Old Wheels Grind

From the laidback setting of a family farm in Mudgee, enjoy freshly baked cinnamon doughnuts & locally roasted coffee, made in front of you from a vintage Land Rover.

Make it an iconic summer experience with the latest additions of gelato & sorbet, made from scratch with local ingredients. Think watermelon sorbet, hazelnut praline gelato, almond granita & freshly squeezed OJ.

The Drip

Take the 3km return walking track along the Goulburn River to the Great Dripping Wall, known as The Drip. This towering sandstone cliff face drips clear spring water into the river below, where you can explore the sandy river bed & enjoy a refreshing dip.

The day use area is a great place to have a picnic with shaded picnic tables by the water. The Drip picnic area & walking track is situated 50 km (35 min) north of Mudgee on the Ulan-Cassilis Road.

Mudgee Pool

Looking for a place to cool off & relax, while the kids play in the water park & slide or take a dive into the deep end? Mudgee Pool is the place to be.

Fuel up with fresh food from the kiosk, grab the SPF & make a day of it.

Market Street Takeaway

It’s not summer without fish & chips - and this café on Mudgee’s market street has got you covered! Moments from Robertson & Lawson parks, grab your takeaway fish, chips, burgers & more, then head to the park for a picnic of all your summer faves.

Ganguddy-Dunns Swamp

This stunning natural watering hole is located roughly one hour from Mudgee, just beyond Rylstone. A beautiful, serene waterway on the Cudgegong River in Wollemi National Park, this is the place to swim, kayak with our friends at Southern Cross Kayaking, explore walking trails & camp.

Byron Perry gelato

When the temperatures are soaring, award-winning gelato is exactly what you want to cool off. Made in-house using stacks of local ingredients like Spencer Cocoa chocolate, Baker Williams Butterscotch Schnapps & more, Byron Perry’s gelato is a must-try.

Plus, with plenty of other tasty menu items, the whole family will be happy.
